Tidy Ocean
A downloadable game for Windows
Made by a group of 5 people in 48 hours for the Climate Change Game Jam.
You play a woman trying to pick up the trash in the ocean at a local beach. You are able to pick up more trash and bigger trash as the size of the boats increase s as you have the money to be able to buy the bigger boats. To earn money and upgrade the boats, the player returns the dock which is marked by the arrow next to the player's boat. If you run into a boat moving through the area or run into the boundaries, you lose trash from your inventory. Each day, the trash in the ocean resets. You complete the game when you are able to collect all the trash for a single day.
The controls are WASD and the arrow keys to move the boat around the water.

Fun little game!
I actually managed to finish it within the first day. I like how the bigger trash are obstacles at first but can be collected once you get a bigger boat. Going into the edge of the map sent me flying a few times, but nothing game breaking, haha.
To make the real world connection even stronger, maybe one cold reference initiatives that do work in this field or to causes of ocean pollution and how we can work as a society to stop it from happening?
